Jackson State coach Deion Sanders wants people to believe he’s not interested in the USC job.

USC recently fired Clay Helton and the Trojans are now conducting what will most certainly be the biggest coaching search of the season. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

One of the names floated in the search has been Deion Sanders, but he’s apparently not interested!

“I’m locked in. I’m locked in. I’m right where I want to be. I’m elated I’m coaching my sons. I’m loving this culture. I want to win, wish we would have won (this past Saturday at Louisiana-Monroe), but I’m locked in,” the JSU coach said in part when talking about the job opening at USC, according to the Clarion Ledger.

I hate to call Sanders dishonest, but does anyone believe for a single second that he wouldn’t run to USC if they came calling?

Does anyone think he’d stick around in the FCS over USC? That’s insanity.

The Trojans could pay him $8 million without a second of hesitation and he’d be in some of the most fertile recruiting grounds in America.

At JSU, he’s making FCS money and has FCS resources. It’s just not the same. USC isn’t just in a different league.

The Trojans might as well be on a different planet.

Sanders can say whatever he wants, but I refuse to believe he wouldn’t be in Los Angeles by tonight if the job was his for the taking.
