Legendary Hall of Famer and former professional golfer Tom Watson has ended his marriage with longtime CBS sports executive LeslieAnne Wade after three months.

Wade announced the end of their marriage in a Twitter post Oct. 24. An unexpected health issue seemed to prevent the marriage from flourishing, according to Wade’s tweet.

“Over the past few months I have been focused singularly on a challenging road through unexpected illness. Tom has been supportive including making sure I have the best possible care,” Wade wrote in the tweet.

“Sadly, the inability to launch and build our relationship properly in these early days forces us to terminate our marriage,” she continued.

Wade thanked Watson for being by her side during her time of need. “I am beyond grateful to him and blessed that I will make complete and full recovery,” she wrote.

She and Watson are ending their relationship in an amicable manner, according to Wade. “He will always mean the world to me and our connection is forever,” she wrote.

Watson and Wade have been in each other’s lives for 15 years and exchanged vows in July, according to GolfWeek.

Wade and Watson, who has won 39 times on the PGA Tour and claimed eight major titles, traveled to the Open Championship at St. Andrews in the summer of 2022 after the couple got married. Wade was a Senior Vice President of Communications at CBS Sports and co-founded White Tee Partners, a marketing agency owned by women.
