The Houston Astros Win The World Series Over The Philadelphia Phillies

The Houston Astros are World Series champions.

It took six grueling games for Houston to knock off Philadelphia, but they managed to get the job done for themselves and their fans. Their 4-1 victory is their second championship win in five years.

The momentum of the decisive game changed in the sixth inning when Astros’ left-fielder, Yordan Alvarez, smashed a go ahead three-run homerun deep into center field. Prior to Alvarez stepping to the plate, Philly was leading the game 1-0.

Alvarez’ 450 foot bomb put the Astros on top for the first time all game. Once they captured a big lead in the 6th, they never looked back.

After the big homerun by Alvarez,  Houston’s pitchers held Philadelphia to just one more hit the rest of the ballgame.

The Astros completely redeemed themselves from their difficult loss to the Atlanta Braves last year in the World Series.

Jeremy Peña is the first rookie position player to ever win World Series MVP. According to MLB.com, Peña averaged .345 at the plate in the postseason while also hitting four homeruns with eight RBIs. (RELATED: ‘End The Blackouts, Dumba**’: Fan Yells At MLB Commissioner During World Series)

Hopefully this championship puts to bed all the baseball fans mad about the Astros cheating to win the 2017 World Series. Regardless of what anyone says about Houston’s organization, year after year they are in the thick of things. They are doing something right to be as good as they are each season.

Big congratulations to long time MLB manager, Dusty Baker, for winning his first championship as a coach. If there’s anyone from the Houston Astros to be happy for, it would be him.
