Amazon founder Jeff Bezos warned in an interview with CNN that people should pump the breaks on spending amid concerns about rising inflation.

Bezos warned that consumers should hold off on big purchases such as cars, appliances and televisions while small businesses should “take some risk off the table.”

“The economy does not look great right now,” Bezos said.

“My advice to people — whether they’re small business owners or, you know — is take some risk off the table. If you were gonna make a purchase, maybe slow down that purchase a little bit,” Bezos warned. “Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.” (RELATED: Bezos Just Roasted Biden For The Third Time In Four Days)

Bezos said people should hold onto their cash until things cool down.

This isn’t the first time Bezos has warned Americans to cool their spending habits. Bezos tweeted in October that “the probabilities in this economy tell you to batten down the hatches.”

While inflation may be easing slightly, producer prices rose 8% on an annual basis in October, following an 8.4% increase in September. Inflation is still four times higher than the Fed’s target of 2% per year.
