Popular R&B singer B. Smyth has died at 28 after a losing battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
His brother Denzil confirmed the news of his tragic death in an emotional video posted to Instagram and told fans his brother died of respiratory failure resulting from his condition. “My brother was very excited to see a lot of you create challenges for his latest released single #Twerkoholic part 2 while he was in the ICU, it really brought him a big smile to his face,” Denzil said. “So on behalf of my brother and my family we want to say thank you to all of you for all of your love & support throughout the years,” he said, before he asked for privacy for his family to grieve.

Smyth died just 3 weeks after he released a single from his ICU bed. Denzil told fans Smyth asked him to make a video to let his fans know he appreciated them and how they inspired his new projects in music and fashion.
Denzil promised fans that the family would update them about upcoming funeral services. The family is working on ways to live stream the funeral for fans outside the Florida area. (RELATED: Rapper Hurricane G Dead At Age 52)
Smyth gained prominence on YouTube after covering songs by Rihanna and Miguel and later signed with Motown Records in 2012. His first single “Leggo” was a collaboration with 2 Chainz, while his next EP called “The Florida Files” was released the following year. It featured a single titled “Win Win,” which was recorded with Future, according to People.
Smyth’s commercial success soared with the release of his 2014 song “Twerkaholic,” which garnered over 17 million views on YouTube.
