They’re available every day, from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. (ET).” The post also included three photos of agents discovering the cat in the checked bag.
TSA Spokesperson Lisa Farbstein elaborated on the find, tweeting that the traveler who owned the bag told TSA agents the cat belonged to someone else in his household. (RELATED: ‘Dizzying’: Americans Can Expect Record-Setting Gas Prices Over Thanksgiving)
“A @TSA officer was shocked to find an orange cat inside a checked bag at @JFKairport after it went through the X-ray unit,” Farbstein tweeted. “Traveler said the cat belonged to someone else in his household. On the bright side, the cat’s out of the bag and safely back home.”

Small pets are allowed to pass through security checkpoints following specific rules varying from airport to airport but should never go through an X-ray tunnel, according to the TSA website.
Earlier this month, TSA announced that agents found a firearm stuffed inside a whole raw chicken at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
There’s a personal fowl here. Our officers @FLLFlyer made this very raw find. We hate to break it to you but stuffing a firearm in your holiday bird for travel is just a baste of time.
