Alabama is still royalty in college football, clearly.
Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide have once again claimed the No. 1 recruiting class, grabbing the top spot on National Signing Day 2023, according to a Feb. 1 announcement from 247Sports.
This is the 10th time Saban has landed the No. 1 class since 2011. And not just that, but this particular class is the third-best in the history of college football, as well as the second-best the Crimson Tide has had in school history. Alabama’s score tallied at 327.68, only behind Texas A&M’s 2022 class and the Tide’s own record in 2021.
A record-high nine five-star recruits headlined the 2023 class: edge rusher Keon Keeley, safety Caleb Downs, offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor, defensive lineman James Smith, edge rushers Qua Russaw and Yhonzae Pierre, running back Justice Haynes, wide receiver Jalen Hale and cornerback Desmond Ricks.

I’m very, very happy with my Miami Hurricanes coming in the Top 10 at the No. 7 spot. With my Michigan Wolverines, I feel Jim Harbaugh could have done better than No. 18, but that’s just my take on the situation. But check out the Canes — I can’t help but bask in that South Florida glory.
