Spotify and Archewell Audio announced Friday they’ve ended their relationship less than one year after Meghan Markle’s podcast, “Archetypes,” debuted on the platform.

The companies released a joint statement, stating they had “mutually agreed to part ways” in spite of being “proud of the series” they created, according to The New York Times. They didn’t indicate if the podcast would continue on a different platform, or if it was canceled altogether. Neither company indicated what led to the decision to pull the deal.

National Public Radio also cancelled a variety of podcasts in March, according to The Hill.

Archewell Audio was created by Prince Harry and Markle. The Duchess of Sussex debuted “Archetypes” in August 2022 and used her platform to openly discuss and investigate commonly used labels often associated with women that ultimately hinder their success by holding them back.

Markle hosted guests such as Paris Hilton, Mindy Kaling, Mariah Carey and Serena Williams during her time as a podcast host.

Harry and Markle said they enjoyed podcasting because it served as a reminder for them to slow down, listen and “connect to one another without distraction,” according to The New York Times. (RELATED: Meghan Markle Admits Thinking Paris Hilton Was A ‘Bimbo’)

Spotify isn’t the only business venture Markle and Prince Harry took on when they gave up their royal titles and started a new life. They continue to maintain a multi-year partnership with Netflix, which includes documentaries, docu-series, feature films, children’s programming and scripted shows, according to The New York Times.
