Actor Angus Cloud did not leave behind a suicide note when he died, further supporting the theory that he died of an accidental overdose, TMZ reports, citing several law enforcement sources.

An initial statement provided by Cloud’s family hinted at the fact that he may have taken his own life as a result of feeling depressed over his father’s death, but now that narrative may be changing, TMZ reported Tuesday.

“Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence,” the family said previously. Now, Cloud’s mother, Lisa, is pushing back against the idea that he took his own life, according to TMZ. Investigators appear to be doing the same, telling the outlet Cloud didn’t leave a suicide note.

Cloud harbored intense suicidal thoughts after his father passed away, TMZ reported, citing a source close to the famous “Euphoria” actor. Lisa insisted her son was in a good place, and that he’d been “talking about the future” prior to his death. She said he’d been lending a hand to other family members, reorganizing his bedroom and doing a series of things that seemingly indicated he was looking forward to the future and not in a depressive state, according to TMZ.

Police responded to a 911 call for a “possible overdose” July 31 and subsequently found Cloud dead in his bedroom at his family’s home in Oakland. (RELATED: Zendaya Reveals Her New TV Series ‘Euphoria’ Is ‘Polarizing’ And ‘Shocking’)

“I only know that he put his head on the desk where he was working on art project’s [sic], fell asleep and didn’t wake up,” Lisa said, according to TMZ.

“We may find out that he overdosed accidentally and tragically, but it’s abundantly clear that he did not intend to check out of this world,” she added.
