Here we go!
Kyle McCord, the starting quarterback for the Ohio State Buckeyes, entered the transfer portal Monday — the very first day of the portal being open.
Now in his third year with Ohio State, McCord won the starting QB job earlier in the campaign after beating out Devin Brown. He was recruited by head coach Ryan Day, then waited two years behind C.J. Stroud, who is now the starting QB for the Houston Texans.
McCord was listed as the No. 31 prospect in the Class of 2021, according to ESPN‘s rankings. (RELATED: Liberty Set To Face Off Against Oregon In Vrbo Fiesta Bowl)
Originally from Philadelphia, McCord tallied a stat line of 3,170 passing yards and 24 touchdowns with a 65.8 percent completion rate, while on the negative side, he also added six interceptions. This season, McCord threw for over 300 yards three times, though he also had two two-interception games, one of which was a loss to Michigan in the season finale that killed the Buckeyes’ chances of making the College Football Playoff.
