A video captured some years ago of a “flaming” UFO is going viral again in December after scientists remain stumped on just what it could be.

Footage of the “flaming” UFO was shared all over social media again after a History channel docuseries noted how the object continues to baffle scientists, according to the U.S. Sun. Clips of the UFO shared online appear to show it changing shape, lighting up in various different colors, and even appears to be on fire during one moment of the video.

“What is it?” a woman says in French. “It shines, huh?” The man, who appears to be filming, says “it’s a ship.” After experts analyzed the footage, it was proved to be legitimate and not a hoax created using computer graphics.

But is it real? Well, some folks think it’s just a Mylar balloon. The object has no obvious form of propulsion, which is why many believe it’s potentially a form of alien technology. (RELATED: Not Even Joe Rogan Can Make This UFO ‘Whistleblower’ Sound Convincing)

The History channel’s aviation and military analyst Tim McMillan believes it’s just a balloon, which would have the same reflective surface and no form of propulsion. However, wouldn’t a balloon move around a little bit more? And I’ve never seen a balloon in this odd shape, almost like two separate crafts.
