Enraged fans posted angry messages to social media after Madonna reportedly kicked off Wednesday’s concert at Barclays Center a full 2.5 hours late.

Ticket holders expected the iconic singer to take the stage at 8:30 pm but there was still no sign of her when 10:30 pm rolled around, according to a slew of messages posted online. “Why did it start so late? No explanation was given. Why did they need to have a DJ on the stage for almost 70 minutes? I had to leave at 11:20 after paying $125 for my ticket. I want and deserve a refund,” one fan wrote to X.

The first U.S. stop of Madonna’s “Celebration” tour was not a smooth one for disgruntled fans.

Fans became increasingly annoyed as time continued to pass without any sign of the famous singer. Some took to social media right away, calling out the star for her historical tardiness to concerts, while others tried their best to hold out hope as they continued to wait.

Madonna’s opening act, DJ Honey Dijon took the stage at 8:30 pm, giving fans some form of distraction, but fans that dished out big bucks to see Madonna live were only mildly entertained.

Fans relentlessly dragged the star on social media, and their messages became more and more aggressive as their patience wore out.

“Late? 10:40pm is a bit past the point of being late,” one fan wrote.

“It’s ridiculous and she doesn’t appear to care. This is nothing new,” said another person in the audience.

Chants of “I don’t give a fuck if you’re Madonna, if you’re 3 hours late, you’re just fucking rude!”, took over the stadium, and one fan reported people began angrily chanting “Bullshit!” according to TMZ.

The famous singer ended up taking the stage between 10:45 and 11pm. Several fans commented that she put on an incredible show, but not all of them could see past the irritation of having to wait so long for it to begin.(RELATED: Fans Furious Over Surge-Pricing After Madonna’s Concert Tickets Are Listed For Over $5,000)

Sources close to Madonna’s team reported the doors were set to open at 7:30 pm, but she was not scheduled to take the stage until sometime between 9:30 – 10pm, according to TMZ. They noted that there were issues with the audio, which caused further delay to her start-time.
