We’ve got another banger from Martin Scorsese.

Known for iconic movies such as “Goodfellas” and “The Wolf of Wall Street,” director Martin Scorsese is now going from mafioso and Margot Robbie-pretty face movies to sci-fi alien flicks. Well, sort of.

Scorsese has made a commercial for Super Bowl LVIII that’s loaded up with UFOs and aliens, with the ad being a total of 90 seconds.

“What does a highly advanced civilization have to do to get noticed around here?” reads the logline. (RELATED: Well, Well, Well: Looks Like Conservatives Bullied Bud Light Into Making A Funny, Mulvaney-Free Super Bowl Ad)

Named “Hello Down There,” the Scorsese-directed commercial is a spot that was made for website builder Squarespace and it was made riding the comedy element of us humans being taken over by our cell phones and tablets.

When the ad starts, people from all around the planet are so distracted by looking for dumb ish on their phones that they don’t even realize aliens are trying to make contact with them. Growing frustrated by both the ignorance and being ignored, the aliens then decide to use a digital tool to get the humans’ attention: Squarespace.

Fantastic commercial by Martin Scorsese and so, so true.

Hell, we’re already having UFO sightings now (which the ad covered) and people don’t care. If it got to a point where aliens actually came here, and UFOs were everywhere, and the extraterrestrials made it obvious that they wanted us to see them, how many of us would actually pay attention?

As dumb as the human species is today, I’m willing to bet a lot wouldn’t, just like Scorsese’s brilliant commercial.

That’s how you know Martin Scorsese is a legend: dishing out truth while making us laugh with corky ignorance.
