MAR-A-LAGO — Former President Donald Trump stepped out of his club Thursday to address the press, saying he believes the Supreme Court arguments have been well received and that he hopes the U.S. will continue being a democracy as Democrats try to take his name off the ballot.

“I think it was well received, I hope it was well received,” Trump said to reporters. “I hope that democracy in this country will continue because right now we have a very tough situation with all of the radical left ideas with the weaponization of politics. They weaponize it like it’s never been weaponized before.”

He also mentioned Ashley Babbitt, the Trump supporter who was shot and killed by Capitol Police on Jan. 6.

“This was an insurrection, if it was an insurrection, because there were, there was no anything, except for the fact they shot Ashley Babbitt,” Trump said.

The former president went on to say that he is a “believer” in the U.S. and a “believer” in the Supreme Court.

“I just finished watching the Supreme Court. It’s unfortunate that we have to go through a thing like that,” Trump said. “I consider it to be more election interference by the Democrats, that’s what they’re doing.”

“I hope that democracy in this country will continue, because right now we have a very, very tough situation,” Trump added. “With all of the radical left ideas with the weaponization of politics, they weaponized it like it’s never been weaponized before.”
